EU Funds

More about European Funds

The European Union (EU) is dedicated to promoting economic development and social inclusion across its member states through various funding mechanisms. These funds are allocated through various programs and initiatives, including grants, subsidies, and loans, to support projects and policies that align with the EU's goals and priorities.

The European Structural Funds are the most important financial instruments within the European Union dedicated to fostering economic and social cohesion among its Member States. The new funding period 2021-2027 started in 2021. Cohesion Policy remains the central piece of EU investments with its eight main funds: European Regional Development Fund (ERDF); European Social Fund Plus (ESF+); Cohesion Fund (CF); Just Transition Fund (JTF); European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF); Asylum and Migration Fund (AMIF); Internal Security Fund (ISF); Border Management and Visa Instrument (BMVI).

Furthermore, to address the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, EU leaders have endorsed a EUR 1,824.3 billion recovery package by combining the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) and the Next Generation EU (NGEU) instrument.

The pursuit of a cohesive and integrated Europe necessitates not only the competent management of these funds, but also the establishment of a framework for the dissemination of knowledge and the training of individuals working with EU Funds. At FORUM Institut, we are committed to connecting professionals sharing knowledge through high-quality seminars.

To gain insight into the individuals working on EU Funds and the EU Fund impact on fostering a more unified Europe, we invite you to explore the content of our videos and texts in our media library.

EU Funds for Biodiversity

The EU is committed to support biodiversity conservation across its member states. The EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030, a crucial component of the European Green Deal, is fundamental for nature protection within the EU. However, the finance gap between the funds needed to protect and restore biodiversity and the actual financial resources available for these efforts, remains a significant and major challenge to global conservation initiatives.
